Default Sub, headunit questions for type r owners

Hello,

First, I have a bar in the trunk which keeps me from getting a typical square box for a sub and putting it in there (cause if I do that, I'll have NO trunk space). I don't really want to take out the spare tires for the sake of having a nice bass. For those of you that have had the same problem, how did you solve it? I suppose a custom box that fits under the bar or the side of the trunk?

Second, since type Rs have an amber color to all the lights, I want to get something that matches it. What are highend decks that support MP3s (WMAs will be a plus) that is a CD player? I want Kenwood decks but I think all of them are light blueish colored decks.

Thanks!
Koichi

Custom box is the best way unless you get the truck type of boxes. Alpine has some amber luminated head units.

I can get you anything on that website for even cheaper if you go through me.

clarion, nakamichi and alpine (the older ones??) I know can switch amber, you might try looking up some decks at http://www.crutchfield.com (but don't buy it there...its way to expensive, but on the pro side, they are authorized for just about everything) At that web site, you can view pics, info, and see the illumination color specs.

I have a Sony Mobile ES head unit, lights up red, looks really good. For subs, I used a JL Powerwedge with two 10s, truck box style, backed up to the backside of the rear seats, left plenty of room.

Check out the AlumaPro BP8(8" bandpass box) cuz it sounds awesome for a lil box and it should fit under you strut bar, you won't regret it plus it's pure quality. Alpine hu all the way!

I'm using a 6" bazooka with a small jensen amp mounted to a plywood board. everything fits between my mugen rear strut bar and the back seat. bass is not the hardest hitting or the most accurate, but it serves it's purpose of giving a nice bass fill to the other 4, 6.5" speakers in the car. I have component 6.5's in the doors which is where most of the staging occurs, anyway. good thing about the setup is that all I need to do is remove the wires to the amp and the entire sub/amp on the board will just lift out when it goes to the track.
