It's easy. Look at a thread about a rear engine civic. Do exactly what they did except ignore the part about removing the engine from the front. Viola! twin engine civic!

That works in theory, however, what do you do about the shifting mechanism, throttle cable, etc. Even if you were to have some way of switching between engines, you still would have to worry about all of those components.

I would think that 2 automatics would solve some of your problems with the shifting and stuff.

no that would probably make it more difficult if they didn't shift at exactly the same time.

to the OP: what is the point? you can make a bunch of power in many other ways without adding the extra 400-500lbs of another engine.

There are a few dual 4g63 powered cars along with a twin northstar car that Cadillac made. I have some ideas about doing a twin engine car in the future. Once you realize how simple a concept it is it really just comes down to your fabrication ability.

But in the end its one of those things where "If you have to ask......."

i have been thinking about that one the last few nights and i wanting to do two ls motors and with the shiftlinkage i think u might be able to weld the rear to the one its already there and than do a few bends in the back to make it meet up at the tranny not forsure yet if that would work

it would be cool to have 2 motors in the car and have pretty much a awd car and at the same time u could take the front axles out and have a rwd car to play around with and make people drop there jaws...

I'm sorry you thought I was serious.

Neither of those are that hard to figure out. If you CANT figure those out dont bother trying.

i had a 1/4 race with a twin engine mini back when i was into evo's
both engine were 1200 mini engine but both turboed , lill thing ran 11 somthing but he had a hard time getting them to run together right.
if i were you i'd do somthing like a evo engine swap, cheaper / lighter/ 90% stock parts

Yah, when it was built it was the era of said Rice, but now its being all JDM converted.
How did it go so wrong? It works 100% and is still running after 5 or 6 years and won HIN.
We did it with free sponsor parts, junk yards, and pep boys. We did it because we were bored, maybe spent 5k? No one else is building them, and none of you can even figure out how to sync two trans's to be able to switch off from one engine to another or to have both run.

For the effort necessary to make a twin engine car you could easily have a turbo B18B that will be much faster. It's a cool project but if your goal is performance there are better ways to get there.

I am not trying to talk ****, but that statement is beyond ignorant.

Well the entire idea is rice in and of itself. I really dont see how it being converted to jdm unrices it somehow.

How would you know that we don't know how to sync the two transmissions lol? Some of us just have better things to do than build pointless bullshit. I hate pointless.

I think this a sweet idea... and if you don't try and overthink it would't be too terribly complicated

It wasnt built for performance, like i said, super budget build just to do it because we were bored. Its what we do, Like now we have a fiat 600 that we are swapping a fully built 3SGT-E into.

And to the pointless bullshit comment, I like to have fun, and having fun for me is doing something weird like that. Everyone can buy something and bolt it onto a car, it takes time and thought to build something like this.
