Default wiring radiator fan always on

hey, my radiator fan (94 del slo vtec) doesn't seem to be going on, even when the car overheats. I'm wondering how to either fix this or wire the fan so it's always on when the car is running.

thanks!

You don't want to do this permanently because you will burn out the fan motor. Start by unplugging the fan switch located on the thermostat housing and then installing a jumper wire into the free connector to short the two terminals. The fan should now run continuously with the key in ON(II). If so, you probably need to replace the fan switch, but first try bleeding the cooling system.

I will jump the wires in that connector and see if the fan comes on. If it doesn't, does that mean my fan is toast or could there be something else causing it not to come on?

I already changed a fan relay up under the hood for the radiator fan. It was a small square black nugget and it smelled a little burned.

If the fan does not run with the 2P connector jumped, then wire power from the battery directly to the fan to see if it works.

and the fan runs on 12v current and will not be fried by the amperage of the battery connected directly?
