My real "bought an Si" thread, to clear up any confusion
I wasn't trying to blow my horn about this...I've been away from HT for a while and just wanted to blend in to this forum without making my own thread. However, GK kind of nudged me in this direction, as did a troll coming to HT and drawing attention to it.
After my ITR got jacked I was completely despondent and couldn't even hear a Honda motor without wanting to slit my wrists. I let this go on for 2.5 years, but once I bought an Accord V6 for my wife I started to get the itch again, badly.
So I started poking around for new Si sedans with navigation. Got a few quotes from local dealers for $25k OTD, but Steve/Smitdog was helping me look, and had found one for even cheaper. I originally wanted a 2010 in Polished Metal Metallic, but a dealer in NoVA had a new 09 in Redline Orange they wanted to get rid of.
They offered it to me for $22,225 or something OTD. I added a moonroof visor, door visors, and the car already had wheel locks and splash guards (Appearance package?). I added an extended service plan and GAP coverage. I don't drive much so I got the warranty stretched to cover time rather than mileage (7 years, 80,000 miles I believe).
With 2.9% APR and $0 down, the total amount including finance charges is just over $27k. If I'd skipped the service plan, GAP, and the accessories I would have walked out for a lot less, but I figured it would be smart to use the savings on covering my *** and getting the options I wanted. I am very happy with the deal itself and would like to publicly thank Steve/Smitdog for helping me find it. Also, it was at the dealer closest to me, which was nice.
As far as the car itself...I wasn't really expecting much. I thought it'd be a nice, more practical Honda that occasionally reminded me of my ITR. But I have been totally blown away by it, and I can honestly say that—in my opinion—it's a better car all-around than the ITR.
Sorry this was long...it's part "new car buy" and part reintroduction. I have two Hondas in the garage (parking space) now and I'm back on HT to stay.
edited for length and stuff

Congrats on the purchase. your not the first person I know of that went from a ITR to the Si and enjoyed the Si much better.
I'm undecided about that. The car is already pretty loud and boomy in motion.
An intake would probably be my first mod. But I might stop there...would it make sense to just have an intake + flashpro?
Or is flashpro only worth it if you are going to do a high-flow exhaust/header as well?
@SpoonITR: I'm nowhere near there. I'm close to DC.

I have like 2k into my suspension on my crx and my stock si with lowering spring out handles xMillion simply because it was engineered to do so. I love driving my si it doesn't shred tires but its an all around great car.

flashpro has calibrations for just having an intake and the rest of the car stock.
you're probably going to pick up a couple hp and the adjusted vtec engagement will
make it all worth it.

I dunno. Maybe it feels so tight to me because I've been driving my wife's Accord and my SHO recently, and haven't driven an ITR in a while.
What are people using for intakes?

there are a few kids here in miami that make 230whp on i/h/e/flashpro/ k20z1 cams
I see. Maybe he'd be a good person to ask about intakes and such.
I took the car out in the middle of a freezing rain storm...it was incredible. It barely lost traction from dead stops, and was sure-footed in a way that I didn't think a FWD-only car could be. I'm seriously in awe, this car is truly amazing.

spend the money on a set of coilovers and be done with it. Glad you're back Ross, enjoy the car
