Default 90 Accord "Sport mode"automatic?

I just picked up a 90 Accord LX and the transmission has a sport mode button. Does anyone have any experience with the sport mode button? Is it a decent auto transmission?

My daily driver is a 93 Accord LX. I have beat the crap out of the transmission climbing a little mountain with it. It seems to be a real peice of crap. It didn't want to go after I climbed the little mountain :-( It felt like I left the ebrake on! I did put new fluid in it too.

Isn't that just like "Overdrive"? I had that too and just kept the button on. Sport mode will only alter the way your gearbox behaves in not changing up a gear until much higher rpm, now this mode is going to be less economical because the car is now maximising performance whereas in normal mode it will maximise economy.

both trannys are the same. Sports mode just makes your car shift somewhat higher. I'm not sure if you would have any problems switching over the transmissions since your 93 transmission wouldn't have a sports button. If your d4 light starts blinking check the tcu for the code and see what it gives you.
