Since the search option is being full of fail, i'll post in here. I did a swap on my buddy's 88 dx, someone else already did the mutli point to the dual point harness... and it resulted in a fire and a blown engine. He's asking me to put a virgin harness into it so this is where I am having issues with getting the wrong info.
I have access to a 91 dash/cabin/engine harness but about 5 people told me this will not work in this car since its an 88. the doors don't have anything power other than the speakers which were hardwired in the first place. Can anyone verify and what issues i'll run into if i try it. I also have access to a 89 si cabin/dash but not an engine harness for that year so what engine harness would plug n play with that. What other engine harness could i use to hybrid this up.

the 91 engine harness should work. dash i dont believe will...and is it a dx harness? the 91? cause its way easier to just rewire a dx harness to run mpfi rather to swap the whole si harness

the 91 is an si.. like i said the org. harness caught on fire so its already out of the car and waiting for a replacement. I just want something plug and play, no wiring mess.
well you cant just put an si harness on the dx....the ecu side of the harness is lacking wires for the injectors and the crank angle sensor has to be wired. its 4 wires to be added..not hard.
