ok...i've had this problem for awhile now...but after driving my friends brand new integra...i seem to notice my problem even more. sumtimes i cant' shift into first gear and i have to throw it into second then first. and sumtimes on high rpm...third and fourth gear grinds. it doesn't make a grinding noise...but i can feel it. do i have tranny problem...or shift linkage? anyone else have this problem before? i had this car for about 5 months now...so i figure if it was tranny problem..one of the synchros would've went' bad by now right?? some one please inform me....i really hope its not the tranny though..that would be a bitch. i need a drink...

 

here is another question. Were you hard on the transmission? slamming gears can cause premature syncro failure, and how you describe your problem it sounds like that is the answer. however a tranny can be pulled out in no time. my friend and i did mine in a couple of hours with no previous experience. hope that helps.

 

Should have no probs going into 1st unless your moving while your trying.. If you have probs going into first something is JACKED up.. The "grinding" going into 3rd and 4th is something that happens to all tegra trannys.

 

if it happens to all tegra trannies...should i be worried then? or does that mean...it happens so go fix it? and when i'm going into first gear...i am at a complete stop. but its fine when i throw it into second then first....weird. about the tranny being beat...i bought the car off a friend...and i'm sure he beat on it...but he's telling me it mite be shift linkage...does that sound right? anyways..i'm bringing it to a friend of mine soon to check...i was just trying to get insite from this post. thanks for info guys.
