i think i found a new project car
meet the 1987 toyota cressida, RWD, Supra Powerplant, 4 wheel discs, i think i gonna buy one for cheap and make it into something like that (pic)
My buddy has one of those.. its automatic though. Has some nice pickup. He pulled a nice verticle slide into a side rail on the highway when it was wet too.. crippled the rear door and fender. its still nice though!
I'd rather have an '85 Corolla, AE86 I beleive they are called.
I guess they have very predictable handling, and a nice DOHC powerplant to work with. And did I mention RWD?
I think it looks good though.

Nice, I never thought of the toyota as a project car. Now, I am thinking about what can actually be done to the car. Does anyone know the specifics, because I wouldn't mind building something up like this.
I like those. I've been looking for one but when I find it they want to much for it. The five speeds are rare too. Nice choice.
This is exactly what I wanted to do, but I didn't want to mess around with a auto-to-5 speed swap. I have heard that there is an extremely limited amount of '85-'86 Cressidas running around with 5 speeds, but its only a rumor (substantiated only by the Kelley blue book site, which gives you an option of 5speed or auto when you enter in the values for an '85 Cressida. Unfortunately, the '87 and up versions look much cleaner than the '85-'86. Cleaner taillight design (more modern, not as dull) and a more crystal-like headlight design, as well as a slight grill change. I've loved this car ever since my uncle bought an '85 when I was just a little kid.
