1997 CL immoblizer question
okay my brothers girlfriend just bought a 97 2.2 AUTO CL with 165k for $2500.
They test drove it and every was okay. They even started and shut it off a couple of times.
It did not come with key or alarm.
When they drove it home and parked it on the driveway, the next morning it would not start. The dash indicates that it's the Immoblizer.
question:
1) How the heck did they start it several times and drive it home if the immoblizer was working?
2) Do they have to reset the battery for 2 mins or is there an internal memory in the ECU that has to be reset?
3) couldn't I just go to junkyard and get accord ECU since it's the same motor and tranny?
4) Do we have to get a new key and immoblizer through the dealership?
how much should that run ?
Thanks guys....
Charlie
