Boring out won't do much aside from just needing a bit more fuel and bumping compression, polishing a crank just restores to new, heavier valve springs are just more drag, retainers have no performance difference, a milled head and Y8 head gasket will bump compression maybe a few tenths of a point?

I'm amazed you didn't put a VTEC head on, they aren't that expensive.

Running a single cam motor on a dual cam ECU will make it run poorly. Chip your P06 and tune on Crome. I'd put a VTEC head on first at least... the head will just flow better even out of VTEC.

Both stock ecu's will not have the car running at its full potential and actually run the risk of damaging your motor. You will need to get and ecu with a map that is custom tailored to your exact engines setup via a chipped obd1 ecu and some sort of rom editing software (choose whatever you or your tuner prefers). Remember, a base map is NOT tailored to your motors needs, it is just a guess of what someone thinks your motor wants and is just a decent starting place for your tuner.
