Default something different, bike swingarm brace

this is for a sv650 that gets tracked. the hardest part of this was bending the 1" aluminum pipe.

is that solid pipe? ****... must have been fun!

btw does that brace really add any strength? did you model it and try some stress testing on it?

no, it is 1/8" wall tube. i'm not sure if it adds strength, i think it will help with eliminating flex, but how much, i'm not sure. it was what the customer wanted. i'm no engineer, i just weld stuff.

thanks. amps are set at 180, but the pedal is down probably around 160-170.

man this was an awesome post where this dude made a pipe bender out of a winch and some dyes, but the pic have been deleted. long story short, winch attached to a pipe bender with a winch. bad ***.

So how did you bend the tube? Seeing how it's similar to the factory braces on most street bikes I'd say it will make a difference

we used a conduit bender to get it around most of the way, but had to heat the corners a bit to get it around 180 degrees.
