Prelude bottoming OUT on every lil bump!
1993 Honda Prelude
Has some yellow lowering springs in there ( dont know what they are, might be nuespeed?)
Anyway, the car bottoms out on every little bump I hit. Im tired of it. I assumed it was the struts, so I put in KYB AGX struts and have them adjusted to as firm as they can go. Still bottoms out!
I think the springs might be too soft, I dont know.
what are your thoughts?
So that being said, I was going to throw in some stock springs in, problem is, Preludes are hard to come by in the yards. What other springs from other car(S) may I be able to use in the Prelude? Are the Accords the same?
And I just noticed the upper Spring Isolators are completely shot, probably not even anything left of them in there, where can I find some of theses?

Dude how much travel do you have left? You cant expect the sus to work right with like 1/4 inch of travel riding close to the bump stops....were the bump stops even trimmed?
Mystery springs are never a great idea....you can find a set of springs to raise it back a little and see if that helps....might want to take a look at your bushings and see how they are holding up....by now they are probably pretty worn/garbage depending on weather/etc

Did you shorten the bump stops at all? Most spring manufacturers recommend this...

I assumed the springs are too soft. See I bought the car with these springs in, the car was riced out badly, im trying to de-rice it. I put in the KYB AGX struts and threw the bump stops out. The Spring Isolators are shot too!
Im looking for stock or different springs CHEAP!

take a look at your inner fender and see if the upper control arms are clearing that edge, if it looks dented up, you can take vice grips and fold some of it out of the way of where your Upper ball joint is. the v of the UCA..
also check to see if you have a camber correction kit on there, those push the UCAs out some... and yes put some bumpstops back in there ,they should be half length.
