Car wouldnt start last night at the gas station, after several minutes of trying, i finally got it going, drove it home no problems...

then today i go out, wont start at all (turns over, just like last night) but wont start

so i removed the negative cable, waited a bit hooked it back up, now it starts, but it does this

very rough start, once it starts it runs just fine....

main relay must be good, i hear it clicking as well as the fuel pump!

 

Any CEL codes?

Does the CEL work -- on for 2 seconds and then off when key is turned to ON(II)?

 

yep, i had a cel a couple weeks ago for my o2 sensor, changed it out...

after that rough start, itll stay running no problems...

cap? rotor? or would that not do that?

 

How old are the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor? Have you inspected them?

 

plugs 2 weeks old
wires, 6 months
cap and rotor - never changed or inspected

 

Definitely pull the cap off and inspect the inside contact points as well as the corresponding contact on the rotor. Post pictures if you can.

 

i will say, when i tried to start it at the gas station when it wouldnt start, it was like it just turned over and finally it did what you see in the vid, and started

 

whats the easiest way of getting the cap off? its alot easier on a 440 big block

assume its the 3 screws? the one looks hard to get to..lol

both look very worn, would that cause my problem?

 

thanks man, i owe you a million, ....changed the cap and rotor, runs like it never has since i bought it a year ago!
