did you ever consider searching in the audio/security forum? i know ive posted this link like 5 times

its the same idea as what was posted earlier. a 5.25 will drop right into the hole thats there if you modify the griills. been running this way for about a year and a half. id post the pics but 20m is a bitch and wont allow image linking any more

I have a 1990 civic si, and I have taken the rear parcel tray, cut 4 6x9 holes in it, and mounted 4 speakers. I re-covered the tray, so the speakers are invisible, and the sound is great, sounds like i have subs back there. I ran the wires under the plastic console where the shifter is, then under the rear seats, and made some wire connectors in the plastic of the rear struts. So, if I have to remove the parcel tray, I can just dis-connect the plugs of the speaker wires, and lift out the tray with the speakers included. It's a flawless system, and all my friends says the installation is the cleanest they've seen. Need more help? just e-mail me.
try the junkyards...... I have a 90 civic si, and I bought it without the rear tray. I calld the dealership, but it was $175.00CDN. I bought it for $20.00 in the used Honda junkyard. There are tonnes of old used 87-92 civics out there, with the rear trays still in them. Happy hunting.

I have the rear speaker panels with 6.5" speakers, along with the cargo cover that is a solid cover. I'm glad I have that stuff, but I had to pay like 70 for the cover.

I'm going to get some 6x9s off my friend's coupe and throw those in the rear. Thanks for the help
Hey I just contacted the local
dealership and they quoted me at $80.00 for the mounts with paper cone speakers. I asked for just the mounts but they said they only ship w/speakers. Are they 6 1/2's or 6x9's?
Was anyone able to just get the mounts?

i havent seen anyone else who has done this, but i love the way it works. i cut holes for 5x7's in the plastic right behind the front seats, right above where the rear seats are. on the drivers side you have to watch out for the fuel feed line to the gas tank and the other side needs to be placed perfect for it to not hit the sheetmetal, but it works and sounds awesome. hope i explained good enough where it is......i'll post pics if i have them.
my rear 6x9" sound great with little cutting with screens on looks stock and fit perfect by the way its old pic i have 6x9" 4 way pioneers in there now
