Default I need a catalytic convertor HELP! (now cat found!!)

Does anyone here know a source for OEM type cats that is cheaper than Acura? If you have one laying around in your garage I'd be willing to buy it from you, if you wouldn't mind shipping it too me.

I'm in a hurry because, need to leave for the SCCA solo II nationals in a few days and my car has started throwing up check engine lights that say the cat is clogging.

I may be able to get the cat replaced under warrenty but I know I can count on the local Acura dealer to be both slow and hard to deal with. I'd almost rather just pay for a cat.

ps. If you have a cat you are intrested in selling please E-mail me at snapspinnr@aol.com

If you are still looking email me at typerbob@hotmail.com. I have a stock one in my garage I would be happy to get rid of.

Thanks for all the responses!!! You guys rule. I've already found a cat and I installed it this evening when I got home. So far, so good (fingers crossed) it looks like it is going to work.

I am blown away by what a great resource H-T is. Within 5 hours of my post I had a used cat in my hand from an Ex-ITR owner who lived within 20 miles of my house.

Thanks Splat

Why did it get clogged? If you don't fix your problem, it will clog again.

Why don't you get a good exhaust shop to install a CARSOUND cat.? Most shops have all the right stuff to make it bolt right in. They are CARB legal & flow extreemly well! I have one on my R & it is great!
Shawn has a stock exhaust. No need for Carsound bling.
