Friend just picked up a 04 hatch SIR here probly SI in the USA. He is looking for a very queit exhaust for it. Whats good out there for the hatch ?

 

Honestly the OEM SIR exhaust flows better then some of the aftermarket exhaust... If I was him I would get a custom mid pipe and a good race header and he will love the sound that it makes! Not noisy but low deep sound!

Btw are you far from Petawawa? My godfather is at the army base there might be visiting him soon could maybe meet up...

 

x2, race header + midpipe and it sounds amazing. I don't have a race header, just a T1R 2.5" midpipe and even that sounds nice and deep, not loud at all.

You can go to any exhaust shop they can usually do this setup... if not ask around.

Or you can buy a pre-made b-pipe online from multiple sites.

I also have the custom mid-pipe with stock muffler. I like it but I am also looking for something different. I like the Apexi WS2 but because it's so quiet, it's also very restrictive. I think I'm going to do the set up we have on our built EG... Apexi WS2 for stealth, and an electric exhaust cut out for flow and intimidation lol.

The mid-pipe is the section of exhaust that goes from the cat/test-pipe to the rear axle back portion of the exhaust. Most that are pre-made will include a resonator section of some sort, but mine does not have anything like that. Mine is 2.5" in diameter, which is a good size for a bolt on, or stock motor.
