Hey guys,

I'm new here, and I just got the delsol, traded with my 86'RX7.

Heres the problem, it's a EG2, supposed to be a B16A engine.
but guess i'm not that lucky, it has a D15b2 engine.

here's the problem,
the previous owner told me it need a new shift linkage. And provided me a set for a D series engine.

I tried to fit it in, and it's 4" too short, on both links.

Any idea?

um, cut the link, and weld a 4" pipe into them.....

 

Someone's got to have D series linkage around cheap. I say sell the B series linkage or keep it for doing a B swap later and just get the right stuff.

 

that's weird, he said it was d series linkage and it didn't fit. prolly b series linkage. As others said, modify it, sell/trade it, or save it for the swap you'll inevitably want to do at some point.

the shifter that is in the car now has been cut and welded,
it's hitting the tunnel when lever is on left or right position,
and the free play for the trans is alot!
I can't tell the difference in free gear or 3rd...

I'm still looking around for parts...having a delsol in michigan kinda sucks..
