Need help with tire size
so im going to buy some rpf1's in 17x8.5 +30 possibly saturday and they should arrive next week. now i currently have 215/45 17 on my c10's that are 17x7.5 +45. so my question is what tire size should i put on the 8.5?? i was thinking of mounting the 215's to see what it would look like. but idk if its worth stretching them or go with a 225 setup.
my drop is moderate, to the point where both front and rear tires are flush with the fenders. i can go lower if i drop one ring nut off the front and the rear is about 3 threads up from being as low as it can go. but also, my tires have less than 50% tread, so basically i need to stretch my tires to avoid rubbing but i dont want to stretch them too crazy. so if anyone knows what a good size would be, i would appreciate it!

I have 215's on my 18x8's and they are stretched a pretty well stretched. The lip of the rim sticks out a lil bit its like if you hit a curb you would total nail all rim and no tire lol. I would do 225's on yours. They would look great. the +30 will look amazing and they will not rub on a 225. especually with the height your at. If you lower the car a lil more you will still be ok i beleive but i wouldnt slam the car. you might wanna roll the fenders front and back depending on the height.
Don't know if this will help you but I have HFP suspension and 19 x 8 with 55 offset and 245/30/19 and I run 20mm spacers. So with the spacers it's the same as the wheel being a 35mm offset. I sometimes rub the plastic liner if I hit a bump during a corner when I'm really pushing it.
And I don't think there is much fender rolling to do on our cars. The fender lip is really small

you have 8in wide tires and havea a 245 tire wide which makes the tire bulgy even though you have a tiny sidewall height. also your on 19 inch rims and hes gonna be on 17 inch rims.
How far away are you from baltimore Md AJP?

greg probably 3-4 hours is my guess
My overall diameter is about a tenth of an inch from stock 17's. I am right in between the 17's and 18's that come factory

Do not get 224/45, that is going to have a huge side wall. your 215/45 will be fine on a 8.5. it will be a very mild stretch and will look fine. But if you were going to get new tires id get 225/40. that barely looks stretched at all, and that is what im running on a 9 and its very minimal.

MY tires are not bulgy. I have the HFP accord wheels. Honda puts 245's on the wheel also

i need some up close ones so that i can see what kind of clearance im going to be dealing with.

^thanks man. im gonna put up a pic maybe tomorrow or in a few so u guys can see how my car sits. its gay how i cant even use the power from my comp to upload pics from my slr since the battery died on it lol
so this is how my car sits. the front is as low as it can go, and the rear has about 3 threads left until its all the way down. i can take one ring nut off the front and rear to get a about a half inch lower to the ground, but i want to fit my wheels before i do anything.
i would get the tires and then see how they fit. You ahve coilovers to adjust height so it will help with hitting the fenders. also i would lower the rear down a lil more to make the car sit even.
After you put the tires on and lower the car to your liking drive it and see if the tires rub when hitting bumps and what not. if they do roll the fenders.
