I just finished a 2 day regional super slalom event (autocross). The first day I was struck with the "knocking down cones" blues and as a result trailed the leader in my class by 1.5 seconds (on a 90 second course). On the second day, I managed to out run him by 1.7 seconds (on a 80 second course) which resulted in my victory.
The 2nd place guy was driving a 1.6 miata with R compounds. Those cars handle really well and are very well suited for a tight autocross course. I was running my ITR with a set of RE010's. The class we were running in was C S/S (super stock).

NIIIIICE - Don't feel bad about the "knocking over cone blues"....they don't call me "DNF- Jeff" for no reason!
I've been known to take out grass, cones, timing lights....maybe I should practice a few more autocrosses if they'll still let me in!

Some side notes for the weekend...
I had FTD for about 20 minutes, until the MOD class came out to play
I can no longer say, "I've never been beaten by a Mustang at autocross."
To my defense, the mustangs were highly modded with roll cages, tricked out suspension, R compounds and arrived on a trailer.
Next season I will be running R compounds on wider, lighter rims (which evidently will keep me in the same class).
