Default Rough Idle

Lately, its had a rough idle. I can feel the engine rumbling through the steering wheel and seats, it seems unusual. Once I tap the gas, this gentle rumbling goes away.

I accidentally hit the fuel cutoff the other day. Road Rage + Late + Forgetting I was only in second gear = fuel cutoff at 52mph or so.

Any ideas?

Fiji i to have had some issues with rough idle. mine went away but my car almost stalled itself once before. i would sugest clean the intake and maf sensor and maybe get some fuel injector cleaner.

Apparently it was just a fluke, as it has gone away. Maybe my car just didn't like all the rain we've been getting.

My car has died before, in the middle of traffic...no stall, no dash lights or anything...but that was in June or so.

Most cars do that because that activates the drier in the a/c system which is what defogs your windows more effectively than forced air alone.

And greg a car thats only a few years old should not need the maf cleaned and not the best idea to just start poking at the thing to clean it nor should the fuel injectors cleaned....They shouldn't be that dirty anyway since the car has a fuel filter. Sounds like a hiccup to me but I never really accept that when people tell me that. Do you have an intake on? Seasonal weather maybe?

Sometimes my car will bog slightly as the fans and or a/c cycles due to the sudden increased engine load from idle...I see what kind of vaccuum and load is present from my boost gauge and you would be surprised what happens when your fans and a/c cycles. I will go from 20 inches of mercury down to 10 on vuccuum then it stabilizes.

If you have an intake and use a Maf cal and have aftermarket intake that may cause more fluctuations that if you used a map calibration.....Do you have flashpro?

I think what you meant to say was that the a/c system is a dehumidifier and will get rid of the moisture that causes the foggy windshield quicker. A/C systems don't have a component called a 'drier'. You have to have the system set on recirculate for the a/c to suck moisture out of the air in the car. This doesn't mean that you have to have it set on recirculate to defrost the window though. Hitting a foggy windshield with air that is lacking humidity will still clear it up (assuming of course that the fog is on the inside).

Just because a car isn't very old doesn't mean the MAF or fuel injectors don't need to be cleaned. The filters don't necessarily stop everything from coming in.

^ no it can be called a drier or a reciever. It's the little aluminum canister next to the condenser.
