Water Pump replacement
so recently my friends CRX water pump has givin out and i was lookin through the haynes manual for the procedure to go about doing this and my it looks quite a pain to do, so what im asking is your guys opinion on how difficult it will be to take out the old one and put in another.im pretty adept mechanic wise and i've done a lot of work on my cars myself unless its something i can't do that requires special tools
i have a 150+ craftsman tool set and wanna know if thats enough to do this kind of thing ourselves.
also while we're at it we might change out the timing belt as well so any input on that also would be helpful

not that difficult to change... the hardest part will be removing the crank pulley bolt and setting the timing, but it's not that much of a challenge if you've done some wrenching before.
you'll need a breaker bar or cheater bar for the crank pulley bolt.

In that link the timing belt install in a bit backwards. Another way to do it is:
remove the crank pulley(good luck)
remove the covers
reinstall the key way and crank pulley without the bolt
line the timing marks up(cam"UP" line parrel to head, crank gear line with oil pump mark)
once that is set loosen the tension 14mm bolt
pull the crank pulley off and remove the t-belt
change the water pump
Now reinstall:
make sure all the marks are still lined up
now with the t-belt tensioner still loose remove the spring so now the tension will drop down
now install the belt around the crank gear, up and around the cam, around the waterpump and over the tensioner.
now with pair of needle nose pliers grab the spring and pull it back up over the little tab sticking out from the engine block
now with the tensioner still loose put the crank pulley back on(without bolt) and turn it counter clockwise just enough so that the cam gear move about 3 teeth from being parrell to the head.
now tighten the tensioner 14mm bolt. That should have put the proper tension on the belt so it doesn't make noise being to tight or to loose.
Sounds like alot of work but all could be done in a few hours.
