AVATAR?? how to make it better

i looked at everyone elses avatar and they are clear and crisp lookin. how do you downsize a big pic to be so small and still look good?

I just used photoshop and sized the pic to the proper dimensions. Maybe that's just not a clear pic.

yeah, i used photoshop and mine turned out good.

GIF images appear not as crisp as JPEG images.

Or you can use MS Paint and scale it down to size, then save it. Then right click and check properties and see that it doesn't pass 25000 bytes.
