91 prelude si engine swap question
Yes siR! I believe its been done before. Even the 89 style Accord can take the B-Series motor, if I'm not mistaken. There's a thread on this somewhere on the net but I don't remember.
I've always found the 91 Si engine to be a pretty good piece. Might be easier and cheaper to work with what you've got. It has lots of poential in the right hands.
We can swap in the H22 and the B18c1 has been done I'm saving up for the H22 swap for my 91. As far as cost the H22 is the most bang for buck around 200 hp stock and easy to maintain, great tq and the best part is it dosen't have crappy a crappy R/S like a B21 or B20a.
yeah my friend has done blown a b20 and a b21 and he has a fully built b18a1 out of his integra that he has wanting to put in if its possible. what all would have to be done and what could we use off his old motor? and does anyone know if the tranny will mount up to other b series motors?
Okay so here the deal with trying to get that b18 into a lude its gonna cost you and arm and leg to get it in and no one currently make mounts to do that. You'd have to make your own. And the B20a and B21 trannys are different from the LS and all other so no they don't swap over.
Ok here's a little background on the 3rd gen Prelude...
1. Their B20/b21 motors share NOTHING in common with the rest of the B series Honda line.
2. Any parts that you pull from a b20/b21 motor or trans aren't going to bolt up to any other motor without some dremel work or other modification. With that said, even if you successfully fit the part to a typical B series motor, you will have effectively installed an inferior part (sadly). So don't bother saving any of those parts. Sell them on prelude*power.com.
3. Join prelude*power.com, and check out prelude3g.com. These two websites are your friends. Trust them, and only them.
4. Welcome to the most pain in the *** car in the history of Honda. Prepare to give your all to a car that will without a doubt let you down, leave you stranded, and make you the laughing stock of your friends.
5. Make new friends that drive 3rd gen Preludes. Their your brothers now.
6. Prepare to have a permanent smile plastered to your face when she's actually running well. It's a rare occurrence, but when it happens, it's magic.
Just so you know, take out the *'s out of the website I posted. Apparently talking about this particular site is not allowed here lol
