Default You havent seen this before. Lol

Ok so i bought a civic the other day, 89 si. turns out the alternator is bad on it. i knew this when i bought it, that is why i got it cheap.

well turns out the through bolt on the alternator is screwed. for one reason or another the end where the nut goes is grinded off completely! lol so its just a bolt,

well i tried punching it out but its not budging, sprayed some pb blaster on it and tried to punch it out again and still nothing.

any suggestions??? im lost on this one.

Can you get to the alternator bracket with alternator still attached? It should be easier to deal with it once is out...

Try puttin' a pin punch on the end of the bolt and hittin' that to knock the bolt out,if that don't work I say get the grinder and KILL that alternator

Can you get the other bolts out of the alternator?
I'm wondering if the bolt is seized in the alternator or to the bracket.
See if you can wiggle the alternator a bit when the broken bolt is all that holding it on.

Bah... who really cares.
Get out the grinder!!!
