Default Good place for an oil pressure sensor?

I have an idea and I'd like to bore and tap the sealing bolt no 13 and screw in my additional oil pressure sensor (now is in the head and shows almost the same pressure all the time). Will I get the oil pump pressure in this place?

Don't they make those cool as sandwich kits for the filter?

They do, but these cool *** sandwich kits don't fit Accord Wagon with H22 and oil filter relocation kit. I have barely place in the back of engine to route the oil hoses to the filter.

I'd think the relocation kit would make it even easier.....

I did mine in the same spot as the factory sensor.

this picture is sideways, the T is mounted on the rear subframe

I don't have any problems with this setup except sometimes on a cold start the sensor won't get pressure quick enough and the light will blink and I'll have to turn it off and then back on and no light, but the light functions as normal and this setup doesn't take up much room either, and looks better than a random line out of the head or whatever.

I am running a line from the original sensor position, to a t-piece mounted on the fire wall,
its work fine, and that way the oil warning light still functions as well. Not good to mount
the t-piece straight to the original position, cause the weight bouncing about may cause
it to break + there is stuff all room there on a h23a1. As for mounting the sensor where
you have said, i dont know if thats a good place for taking readings or not.

The factory spot is already used by the oil supply to the turbocharger and factory sensor that's why I'm looking for a different place.

I found sth to what I'd like to achieve but it's for B-block (18mm not 22mm)->> http://www.z10eng.com/catalog/produc...products_id=39

OK. It will work with unfiltered oil but it doesn't matter for oil pressure.

I use the port in the head right above the t-stat housing. It's worked great for me.

Pentaq, Yes, you will get oil pressure from that plug in the oil pump. If you can't find a replacement part you can remove the original one and drill/tap for 1/8" BSP for a feed.

I use the bigger one in the back of the head near the egr. I have an adapter 3/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT there, but in this place I get the steady pressure of 3 bar and slightly less when oil is hot (like 2.7bar). I'm more interested in the main bearings oil pressure or let's say the condition of the oil pump.

I got a new 1/8" NPT tap yesterday in my mail, so I'm willing to use it And this plug looks good to get the oil pressure to the gauge. Anyway the oil change is very soon, so I'll have the opportunity to mess with oil stuff

Look at the plumbing and you'll see that the galley that feeds this port is directly connected to the galley that feeds the main bearings. The oil pressure should be the same within maybe 2 or 3 PSI, I'd imagine. I get oil pressure readings that vary with RPM as you would expect, and the min and max look appropriate as well. I have not taken measurements at the OEM oil pressure switch location, but I'd be very surprised if it was different by more than a few PSI.

That's what I thought earlier but it looks different. Of course the pressure varies in RPMs but max is 3bar (I don't use vtec as it's not tuned there) and keeps this level from ca. 2000rpms to at least 4000rpms. if the engine is in lower rpms the pressure drops to 1bar sometimes slightly less.

I get anywhere from 20 PSI (1.4 bar) to 90 PSI (6.2 bar) on my data logs. My analog gauge that I had installed before my data logger had similar readings.

Hmmm and now you made me think... I'll try to change the spot and see if it changes anything. Maybe the gauge is out of order. But it passes the self control procedure at the start...
