anyone running OBD1 and a test pipe? o2 CEL...
hey all,
trying to decide what my options are for my 94 integra...just put on a header/test pipe/catback system and am now getting a CEL for the o2 sensor.
my gas mileage has dropped from 32 avg. to 26 avg, and the extra fuel is turning my white bumper black.
i was considering a o2 simulator, but am not totally sure if it is designed to work with OBD1 cars, searching gave me no answers.
i dont want to get the car chipped/tuned yet because all i have is a CAI and its not worth it in my opinion.
anyone out there running OBD1 with a test pipe?
how did you get rid if the CEL?
thanks in advance guys.

Which o2 sensor code is it throwing? does it state b1s1 or b1s2, rear o2? An o2 sim will only trick the rear o2 sensor into thinking you still have a cat, it is not designed for the primary o2 sensor(the one in the front). If the code is for the rear, the o2 sim will work to get rid of the cel. Hope this helps.
yes, my header has a bung for the o2, and that is where it is plugged in.
the code i got is for the main o2 sensor. since i am OBD1 i only have one before the cat, no rear sensor at all.

I'm running OBDI with a stripped cat, pretty much the same thing. You're getting the code because the header is giving the car a rich mixture. The sensor itself might still be good. The only solution is to get it tuned. You have a good point in not wanting to tune since you are still going to be changing parts. What I suggest is getting the basemap tuned for your current setup. It will make your car run better and raise your fuel mileage. The car will not be affected much when you replace the CAI. You can always go in and get a full tune when you are ready.
