Default 99 accord auto trans problems

99 accord with auto transmisson when start the car in the morning eveything is fine for about 30 min after that the trans seems to want to lang in changing gears. So I'm thinking it's got to be something with heat? I had a friend hook it up to his tool and it said lockup control solenoid! I have talked to many trans shops and most say bad trans. one shop said it could be the main computer, trans computer or the solenoids or the transmission. I have even read that people with same problem and it was the battery and or alt.
Has anyone had this problem and what was the fix?

Is you car a V6? Mine's throwing the same code... everyone I've talked to (Oddessey + Accord forums) say that this code (P0470 - Torque Converter Clutch solenoid failure / malfunction) usually means that the trans is done for.

There are some services that you can do to the solenoid's, but, from what I can take... this is just delaying the inevitable...

Do like I'm doing and start saving up for a new trans, man. I just started a thread about swapping in a beefier Acura auto trans to avoid further failures... you should keep an eye out for it (99 Accord V6 - auto trans swap).

Mine is 4 cyl I am thinking something has blocked the thrans line in the rad. i'm going to add a transmission cooler to mine in hopes it fix's the problem. I believe if it was a interal transmissiom problem it would have the same problem all the time, not after 30 min. I believe the transmission fluid is heating up after 30 min of driving and causing the problem. When I get the time and the weather will let me I will add the transmission cooler.

... or start looking into an auto to manual swap. Now is the time to do it if it is something you are interested in, before the automatic transmission completely fails.

Tell that to pre 1998 owners. 420k on my 86lxi original trans. Over 200k on several 90-97 accords. Also on several civics of various years. This problem has not always been part of honda ownership.
