ok well my 1996 accord lx threw a rod today
it has the 2.2 f22 engine
i also have a 1992 accord
will the 92 accord engine work in the 96

 

The problem is your 96 engine is OBD-2 and your 92 engine is OBD-1. You will need to do a OBD conversion.

you will need an obd-1 ecu, obd-2a -> obd1 harness, different exhaust manifold/header, thats just that i know you will have to change for sure

and in most places its illegal to put a motor that was made for a earlier year than the car and to downgrade...wll at least in cali it is

complete running 92 so i could just use the ecu an the engine exhaust manifold an header

 

it's usually not worth the headache to go through that, plus if theres inspection anything like PA or CA in WV, forget it. look around junkyards, theres plenty of accord motors around for your car. no point in ruining a running car to just make a new-ish car shittier.
