Car / Steering Wheel Shaking??
I've changed almost every suspension component this summer in the front and so because of that the mechanic told me that it was my tires, so I got them checked and it's not and just to prove I took off my summer rims and tires, and put my winter tires and rims on and it still shakes. The only issue is that it happens intermittent and when it does it's pretty brutal, so sometimes I drive and it's fine and the faster I drive the worse it gets? Any ideas please before I bring her to Honda and get raped on diagnostic, etc?
I had a problem like this before in my 91 prelude. In my car it turned out to be the cv joint on the passenger side. I could drive the car for a few days no problem, then it would shake for a while (sometimes several miles, sometimes only a few miles) then it was good again.
Do you feel it more in the steering wheel or in the petals. If it starts to shake try tapping the brake a little bit to see if that changes anything.

As for the shaking/vibrations, it's a bit of both, in terms of feeling where it's coming from.
I took mine to a mechanic and he lifted it up for me while the gas was pressed and showed me how my halfshaft was bent and out of whack most notably around 4000k rpm which is causing a vibration to the steering wheel around those rpms.
I can put the car in neutral and coast and it still vibrates. I'm pretty sure now that it's the one of the inner cv joints as it's makes a few "clacking sounds" when i turn the wheel parked and so all the symtoms are starting to point to these as the main problem and Honda says this was an issue for 99-01's apparently. I'll let you guys know tomorrow what goes down. Hope it's not too much money to replace

Does it shake when you are driving only? When you brake? When you turn? At what speeds exactly? Under hard accelleration?
My brother hard a similar problem in his dodge stratus, turned out to be a bad o-ring in his R+P.

I have a 92 prelude and for some reason while I'm driving and the rpm's reach about 3200 they will spike and the car dies. I'm sorry to change the subject of the thread but I don't know how to start a new one. Would anyone know what the problem may be?
