h22a parts question
ok i got my JDM h22a and there is a black box thing under the I/M- WTF is that and do i need to hook it up? it has a plug and some hoses in it one of them goes up to some kind of valve deal on the passanger side of the I/M
you have to run a wire from the sensor to the ecu to control the butterflies, its basically what keeps your low end peppy and opens up for top end when vtec needs more airflow. so they open at 4200 otherwise they remain closed.
if you look on the side of the manifold there is little vac bell looking thing, if you push it down the secondaries close.. it has a line that goes to the vac box on the bottom of the manifold.. so what happens is that little plug on the side of the vac box is the pressure controller, when u turn on the car it clicks open and the vac box starts to suck ..which then the secondaries close. at 4200 it clicks closed so u release vac pressure and secondaries open, thus giving you more air in vtec (right before i should say) if that gets broken ur secondaries will always stay open, kills ur low end a bit but vtec stays fine, which is the imporant thing!
is this what we are talking about?

this is the EGR right? which isnt needed with the jdm ecu
mine is broke, and it looks like there is supposed to be another hose going into it?

see how it connects here, speaking of which I have this same box in my garage i took mines off cuz the nipple on the control thing broke but the box is fine, i'll send it to ya $25 shipped if you want? hit me up on AIM: chamelieon
btw - dont even dare remove the EGR, you will get a phatty check engine light, the jdm ecu definitely checks for that.. unless you run a P72 but if you have a P13 if will give you a cel and a bouncing idle.
Well my JDM P13 definately doesnt check for EGR and mine isnt even hooked up at all.. And you should replace the IAB box with a new one since the engine is already out and such..
where do you guys find these cool charts?? my box is fixable just need to know where the wires go to hook it up? im sure one goes to ecu and the other is power/ground??
it shows right there in the picture where everything goes.
any more help then stop by http://www.h22a.org

i know that but where in the ecu? like d3 is the knock right, im using a vtec harness so thats taken care of
i have a plug that fits it but just need to know where in the ecu it goes
also its a 2 wire do they both goto the ecu or is one a power/ground?

Top right was if you had a vacumn box but since you dont you can just cap those off. Bottom right should be capped off as well, but it already looks like it it.
Top left seems to be the EGR, I cant really see since the pic is so small. You can try to attempt to hook it up but without an EGR solenoid I doubt if it will ever work properly so you can just cap that off as well.
Bottom left seems to be the AICV connector but again I cant see well do the pic..

the top two can be closed up or should i say looped. they arent important.
the side one can stay closed like that, the bottom goes to emissions and the EGR goes to emissions.
the FPR tube goes into the vac tube in front of the manifold, its right there in front.
and what your gonna do is get rid of that little black control thing.. everyone does but if you want then just basically plug the end line to the fpr vac tube in front of the manifold. tube on the back goes down to the secondaries vac box
