I am about to boost my car and want a new oil pan for my D16Y7 NOT A D16Z6. It can be used but in good condition. I have the flange don't need that.
Car is a 96 civic dx d16y7 sohc. I also need oil cap. Would prefer aftermarket.

Also after a set of jdm or oem tails for a hatch just the outers.

y8, z6 oil pans will not work on a y7. If you are still looking for the y7 oil pan I have a mint one available

 

just curious, but why would they not work? I could see the Z6 not working, but I was always told the y7 and y8 are almost identical?

 

A few things you may need to know about y8 oil pan:

1) It is deeper/taller than y7 oil pan so it holds slightly more oil.

2) It is made of aluminum vs. steel so it disapate heat much better and it has small fin type surface.

3) can be use on y7 block but need to use y8 oil pan gasket.

4) will not fit on 88-95 D series blocks.



y8 will not work with y7 oil pan because the y8 oil pick up is much longer so it will hit the bottom of the y7 oil pan before it can even sit flush with the y8 block.


You can use y8 oil pan on y7 block, but not the other way around.

 

okay that's a little more what I figured.

 

Okay, going to try this again I NEED A D16Y7 oil pan, I DO NOT WANT A Z6 or a Y8 I WANT A D16Y7 OIL PAN!

 

what about a d16y5 oil pan already tapped for the oil return line?.........i also have a 3" ceramic coated down pipe for a single cam with a 4-bolt turbo flange

 

have a set of hatch tails if you still need. lmk
