Default castle nut removal

I am a rookie with no fear and a DIY mentality.
I also am a fast learner, however pics will be helpful since I do not know what all the names of the parts are.
I have a 97 accord, 4 cyl, ex model, manual transmission, abs brakes.
Here is my problem:

My CV Axel popped out while turning a corner, while trying to remove castle nut I noticed everything just spins and will not unscrew. A neighbor told me that my ball joint needs to be replaced. So my question(s) are:
1. How to remove the castle nut
2. How to remove/replace ball joint
3. Reseating CV Axle into transmission
4. Anything that I should know to check for

Any Help would be extremely Appreciated
Thanks

Take a floor jack. Position the lift pad onto the balljoint/tierod stud. pump the jack just enough to keep the stud from spinning. Then take off the nut.

Thanks for posting!

Question I have is should I first detach the shock fork or anything else first before jacking?
It doesn't seem to work with it attached

Update:

I have now removed the castle nut, and reinstalled the cv joint. However I still have not been able to remove the ball joint. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

You don't need to replace the ball joint just cause it spins while tightening/loosening it. Its common to see that on Hondas.

To replace a Accord Ball Joint, you'll need a press or pound it out. But, once the ball joint slides out of its bore, it'll hit the wheel bearing. So, you need to press the bearing out a tad so it'll clear the bearing when sliding out of its bore.

Installing and removing ball joints is a real pain in the *** if you don't have the right tools for it. Just do what Dogg said and you should be able to get it out
