Default Leaking flex pipe fix.

My son's 93 Prelude SI had the flex pipe leaking. Honda wants about $400.00 for the pipe and after market was around $200.00.

The pipes were solid. Only the flex was bad.
The auto stores have replacement flex pipe sections. I found one the same pipe diameter and about the same length. I held the replacement up and marked where to cut the old pipe. Took the pipe off the car & made the cuts with a hacksaw. I bolted both pipe sections back on the car along with the support mount. Then I tack welded the new flex pipe in several spots so the alignment would be as original. I took the pipe back off, welded it all around and put it back on the car.
It took about an hour and I think the flex was about $15.00
If this flex ever goes bad it will be just as easy to weld another one in.
If you can't weld a muffler shop should be able to do it in less time than it took me.
