Here is the dilema...


Just recently, two prospects, one built, one bought a car. One is a 95 EG Sedan (DX), with an LS SWAP (97 Integra), the other is an actual 97 Integra. The two met and we explained and the inevitable debate came as to which car would be faster. BOTH are 5 speed manuals, bone stock, with only Cold air intakes and mufflers on the back. Unfortunately, ol boy with the Integra won't line up for whatever reason..

But he believes his car is FASTER. Me personally, I think he'd lose because the DX has the integra in weight by at least 200lbs. Neither driver weighs more then 140lbs themselves and are equally skilled ( I taught em both how to drive manual, so i'd know.) I think it's a no brainer...he and other say otherwise..

so...if you all wouldn't mind..put it to rest for us.

If you read my post, I stated clean as day that the guy doesn't wanna race the integra. Believe me i've given my best efforts, i've even offered him 50 bucks to run the thing. He doesn't wanna take the drive to englishtown, and he's to ***** to street the thing one time down South 20th street.

Bench racing is all we have at the moment and believe you me I'm not a fan of it, but I still think in this case it's obvious who'd win, Dude just wanna see someone else other then me say it. is what it is at this point..My votes going for the Civic with the LS swap.

is the other 97 teg a LS or gsr.? but chances are, the civic is gonna get eM.. but never know! best way is to have eM rUn.!

When someone won't race their car, it's because they know they won't win or have doubts. If he won't put up, he'll have to shut up since bench racing is still just an opinion and you already have enough of those.

well lets do some thinking here for a minute. Lets say one of the cars isn't in good running condition, for example, the timing is off, valves are adjusted out of whack, there are many things that would contribute to which car is faster besides the fact that HEY! ITS A CIVIC WITH A LS SWAP!!!!WHO KNOWS HOW HEALTHY THE MOTOR IS THO!!! BUT HEY!!! CIVIC LS SWAP!! WOO!!! The civic LS could run like dogshit and the teg could run as good as it did when it came out of the factory. Try factoring that into your equation.

 

go to the track and shut up, if the other kid doesnt want to race then you'll never know. get over it. But i assume you made this post because you wanted the manpower to go ahead and say HEY!! EVERYONE ON HONDA-TECH TOLD ME THE LS CIVIC WOULD BE FASTER!!! SO IT MUST BE!

 

So if the guy doesn't want to race what are you going to do? Go back to him and tell him that a bunch of people on a website said he would loose.

You're being rude telling another grown man to Shut up for these reasons, but i'm not gonna entertain the exchange. But Honda-Tech is a respected source of information and the opinion of it's members are valued..hence why I sought the opinion in the first place.

As for the condition of the cars, BOTH motors are LS motors from a 97 Integra, no GSR's. BOTH have around 45K on them with no major issues whatsoever, I Pieced together and built both motors myself and for the most part they have been brought to their current conditions under identical circumstances.

In any case I don't think i'm gonna get an answer, just more opinions about my opinion, so sorry to have bothered u all with this in the first place.

 

Well if your stating that the engines are exactly the same and the drivers are exactly the same. Then it comes down to gear ratios, weight of the cars and type of suspension/tires on them.

Witch one of the two is lighter, has the better gear ratios, suspention setup and tires?

If your going to say they are both the same setup. Then the only way is to get them to put their cars on the track.

 

Ok...Debate settled, I got the ***** to street it. EG Civic Won by half a car.

Of course he' didn't take the win easy, second run he gets eaten by a car. I'm not sure if thats driver error, but the civic DEFINTELY got a far better launch in the second go, clearly had em.

Well the debate is settled, I guess we're all gonna sit here and ponder why and what, but it has to be the weight, the first run they both left with wheel spin and it came down to the pull..slow, gradual pull away from the teg. Second run he jumped em from the line and never looked back.

A) Not my 4 Door.

B) What ego, Any of my cars are outlandishly faster then the two mentioned.

C) With it not being MY 4 door, where would MY EGO fit in on this? Not only is it NOT mine, there isnt a single post in my thread about this said EG 4 Door being MINE.
