i hooked up a vtec light earlier today because i was bored had the things laying around, and thought it would be fun..

anyways i was testing to see if it works, it works but it lights up everytime little over 5k rpm... this right? cause i thought it was 42-48k rpm for it to engage



oh yea btw this is off topic but... gotta know
would the zc dohc d16 motor have vtec? if so would it be like any other DOHC vtec? or like the sohc vtec?

 

When I had my D16Z6 with stock P28 VTEC crossover was 4900-5000 RPMs.

 

Honda tachs are known to be off a little bit so your tach isnt going to be completely correct. the z6 crossover is at 5500rpms. And no, the dohc zc motor does not have vtec.

 

oh i been reading on it and it says crossover is 4800 RPM, 5500 seems to high, and i can sorta hear the vtec cross over even before with the light, and after with the light,

my motor is still freshly rebuilt with around 10000 miles on motor and head, and got I/H/E
and cams
and after i get my motor swap, would 200$ for the whole complete motor be good price to sell my d series for?
