Icon2 Broken valve cover bolt...

Got a 1997 Accord LX 2.2
So I just got done doing a complete seal job= valve cover and
spark tubes- upper and lower. Then a valve adjustment...and then
the very last bolt on the valve
cover broke- couldn't believe it....Anyway- it looks like i can just
pull it and replace - is that right? I don't have to take the rocker
assembly all the way off again, do I? I don't think just removing
1 of the 18 bolts would mess it up too bad...?
Suggestions anyone....

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the Valve Cover bolt, bolt? Reason I ask is because why would you need to remove the rocker arm assembly to extract it out? Unless I'm wrong and you have to. I've been a B1 and H22, so I've never mess with a B2.

no, I had to remove the assembly to get to the lower seals for the
spark tubes...
One of those bolts (the one on the top of the hump, next to the
timing belt) extends higher to become the bolt for the valve cover.

Any idea if I need to undo all those bolts to just get the one out?

No problem. Just get a new one and get upgraded with that. You will find everything working well for you.

thanks Nelson!

FYI to all:

no problem taking out the bolt- was worried that it might upset the balance
of the assembly, but it didn't. the other 17 bolts did the job.

but, the dealer charges $15, so if you've got the time (I didn't) it would
be worth your time to find a junked one.

P.S.- when they say 9 ft/lbs of torque - they mean it!!
