so i just started and drove my car for the first time in about 2 months. is it normal to smoke a little?
also, as soon as it is warmed up the rpms drop to about 500 and it sounds like my car is gonna die.
any help is appreciated.

most hondas are known to smoke at startup,

 

Leaky valve stem seals can cause oil to drain down into the cylinders after an extended period of time. If the smoke goes away, you're probably safe for now. The rough idle could be any number of things. Check your plugs for signs and search on iacv.
If the smoke smells like coolant, you might have a bad headgasket.

 

the smoke smells like stale gas. could that be why it idles funny?

 

yeah. my car has been doing the same thing. it boggs down to like 400 rpms and then revs up to 1000 rmp. thrn back down agian......

what could cause this. the car has been sitting for 5 weeks. but i go out and start it up about 2 or 3 time a week???

 

a vacuum lines maybe?
