00' Civic Ex alt. not charging and #15 keeps blowing
Aight I bought a 2000 civic ex a few weeks ago and been having problems with it ever since. Called the dude I bought it from and he said he didnt own it long but never had a prob. IDK it is what it is.
Here's the problem I drove the car 2 hours home parked it, drove to the mall wouldn't start. I turned off all acc. and tried again and it barely cranked. Got bout home and the car cut off. I kept hammering the gas and all sudden it was normal again.
Started looking at the car thinking the wiring had rubbed against the IM Support and noticed that the wiring was all hacked up. I ordered a used wiring harness off ebay. When I received it I looked it over then installed it, put in a new battery and realized the alt. wasn't charging. Took it got it checked, it was dead, bought a new one and installed it. Checked and the alt still wasnt charging.
I checked the #15 fuse and it was blown put in another and disconnected the VSS. It blew as soon as the KEY is turned to THE ON POSITION. Took the fuse out checked the continuity and on the hot side it was 004 and on the other side 000 meaning that it doesn't have a dead short.

Sounds like you already checked the insulation on the ebay-bought wire harness near the intake manifold support.
Check for a short to ground to the Blk/Yel alternator wire. If short found there, repair the damaged wire insulation and replace fuse.

Check the O2 sensors wiring next.

I had the same problem and it ended up being a short in the wire running from the #15 fuse to that plug on the drivers side corner of the back of the engine bay. Did you say you already checked that wire?
