Default Best Cams for my setup

Hello H-T.

I am thinking of putting together a all motor build for my DD gsr. Here is the setup I am thinking of going with

Bottom End:
GSR block bored to 81.5mm
81.5mm PCT Ek9 CTR Pistons
Stock or Eagle Rods (not sure as of yet)
Stock GSR Crank
ACL bearings

Head:
ARP headstuds
OEM Honda Head Gasket
Ferrea valves
Supertech Valve springs and retainers
OEM honda Valve seals

Now as the topic states I am unsure on what would be the best cam selection for me. I am open to all brands including Blox etc.

I would like to make around 200-220whp.

Don't use those pistons as there are better choices available. Your building a 1.8L and there is plenty of info in the dyno threads to show you what cams (and part combinations) work well and what power they make. Spend some time looking through this section, there's tons of good info available.

well i only wanted to use those pistons because I im not looking for crazy high compression. To be honest i would like to see just 200whp. Would this all motor combo not net me that?

use JDM p30 pistons rather then PCT. 00Red_SiR is right there are better pistons out there. As far as cams I personally like the RM cam line up. (m22x, ****, etc). Stock rods are good, but Eagle Rods are better.

You're NOT looking for crazy high compression? Using CTRs?

I concur. I will probably upgrade to some M22x as well when I beef up the bottom end...

With those pistons in your setup, you'd be at roughly 13:1. Much to high for what you want to do.

wow 13.1? I was just going by this compression Calculator and figured it would be 12.4?

It is pretty much common knowledge that PCT pistons are not ideal for 1.8L applications.

P30 or PR3 pistons produce more power, with less compression.

You can run stock rods at that power level, be sure to have ARP rod bolts installed.

M22X and Pro2 cams have been the best 1.8L cams for all around powerband.

Pro2's m22s s2s2's or bloxC's which are the same as JUNIII's will all be good, if you wish to inquire about rocket motor sports products you can pm me.

thank you for the input guys! i think i will be going with stock jdm p30 pistons. Does anyone have a set for sale? lol. Arp rod bolts are a must with stock rods i know that.

i think will be going with the blox c's as well.

^this coupled with ferrea 5000 series valves would be pretty sweet i think.
