lol thanks. glad you guys liked the videos. we have done quite a bit to keep the car together and consistent for the next outing, but made sure we still didnt spend a whole bunch of money...cuz we dont have any...we'll see how it goes.

Hey dudes, is the car still on the bone stock B18C? or did you dudes put some aftermarket internals in it?

I used to keep in touch with some of you guys through PM's. I had a goal of running 10's on a stock engine, stock tranny, and big street tires. Could have possibly done it and still can, but my tranny finally gave out on me. Tried to fix it and something was still wrong with it, so I recently went ahead and ordered another stock GSR tranny.

I only made it to the track once and got in 4 runs before the rain came that particular day. It was 1/8th mile runs and my best time was mid 7's in the upper 90mph range. Had a few more psi that I could have thrown in there, but I was working on my launch and 330' since the car wanted to bog pretty bad once I hit 2nd gear. I think if I can hit lower 7's @ 100mph or so in the 1/8th then I will get that 10.999 that I want.

no not anymore. did you watch the video lol? we have JE pistons and eagle rods and a block guard (although i think its doing more harm than good). then a bunch of few other things mention above. we went out to KCIR for an IFO and the car was doing great until the stock valvetrain bit us in the *** on a qualifying pass...datalog showed almost 10k so i guess the valve springs didnt like that at all. so we are a bit more prepared this time. dont wanna drive almost 1k miles to an event only to break again. should be fun

yeah i remember talking about your car. sucks you didnt get to take it out more. that should do fine if you can get it down to that. our 10.9's were with 7.1ish 1/8's at 102-103mph, but i didnt realize you were using street tires when you first talked to us about it. good luck next season man.

Yeah, I wanted to run into the 10's exactly how I would drive it on the street. I am close to my goal, maybe I will get to take it back out once I get my other tranny bolted up.

 

no it was a rod bolt that stretch a good half an inch before it broke off and sent the cap rattling around till it made it way out the block in a few different places on cylinder 1. I think MoSpec has some pictures of it somewhere. we took it to the dyno the day of a test and tune day to get some more power out of it to try for 9's. we were tired of waiting for the stock motor to go because we had the other motor stuff waiting to go in, so we just decided it was either going to run a 9 or blow up trying....weeeell it blew up trying lol. we just tried for a little much on those 170k mile internals :/
we were happy with the times from that motor though. i think we will be happy with the new setup too. after this season though its time for a bigger turbo... we are already making more than that turbo should really be making anyways lol.

 

hey BTW guys i was curious why some of you have 1000ft times only in your sig...does your local track only run 1000ft or am i missing something lol?

Currently, I am located in South Central VA hahaha....Actually, Lynchburg and Danville. I am in between. Finishing my degree in Lynchburg, but it is South Central VA.

Yeah i know a lot of people out that way. i grew up in VA Beach. went to Kempsville High school. where i got my start in cars lol. i still keep in touch with friends all over VA. So im assuming you go to Virginia Motorsports Park. still one of my favorite track. Been wanting to take the hatch out there but its just so damn far!

yeah man, can't wait. i think we are ready to go. pretty anxious to get down there already. its been too long since we've had the car on the track. i HATE seasonal tracks! hopefully we have all Friday that week to sort out the new tires and different track so we should be ok.
