just curious about the basic setup for piecuts. like i know the formula but not sure how big each piece should be... and if the straight end should be cut at an angle or not...

That is all up to the tube you're trying to produce. I pretty much eye ball it every time, just use some PVC pipe to do a quick mock up to make sure the angles are right if you're not comfortable just hacking into some more expensive tubing.

 

just depends on how nice or how radical you want it to look, patience is key!!!
