I have a manual 98 HX and it's beginning to show signs of trouble. I won't get into the specifics since that's not really what I'm here to address, but I wanted to know if there's anything special about the manual trannies in an HX or if it's just the same one that's in DX, EX, etc. I know the HX is supposed to be tuned for better gas mileage so I don't know if that was including special gearing in the tranny or just engine tuning or what. If my problem is what I think it is, I'm going to need a rebuild and I'd much rather just do a swap to save the money. Since HXs are kind of rare, it's going to be hard to find a parts car. Would a DX or EX tranny perform the same in my car if it comes to that?
