Default Lowering my Civic: No clue what I'm talking about

I drive a '94 civic lx and I'm trying to lower it to make it look nicer and ride better. I have 160,000 miles on the car, and I was wondering if I could get away with just buying lowering springs and getting those installed. OR due to the high mileage on the body do I have to buy springs+struts or just a full suspension kit?

Again I'm not trying to make my civic into a race car, I'm just trying to give it a nice touch.

Thanks

Personally, I would get new struts and bushings while your at it. It really depends on how long you want to keep the car though.

lowering srpings alone will wear the stock struts more quickly. and at 160k they might not be in the best shape anyway. i would do a spring/strut combo. eibach makes them as well as tokiko, either can be had for about $450-$500.

i think that would give you the best overall performance and longevity

Alright thanks.
How much do you think a place would charge to get it all installed?

if your getting just springs and shocks I'd just do it myself. Get some PB blaster and spray and the rear lca bolts everyday for a few days before you install them so that way it might make it easier to take those bolts out. If you're getting coil overs you can do it yourself as long as your have the time to do it sine it'll take longer making sure everything is at the right height

Also keep in mind you should get an alignment done when you lower your car.
Your tires will thank you.

Skunk2 sport shocks and springs get my recommendation for the price, as they are $450-$500. $150 is about average for an install, then a 4 wheel alignment is around $50-$75. Hope this helps...
