1998 Honda Civic Sedan

My passenger rear door will not open from the outside, only inside handle opens it even though the door button is up. When I use the outside handle, it feels like it is not attached to any linkage, but has normal tension just like if it was locked.

Maybe coincidence, but this happened after i installed an alarm.

Def. a coincidence. remove the door panel and inspect whats going on. The plactic lever on the exterior door handle probably broke off leaving the rod that connects the exterior door handle to the door latch dangling. If so, you will need a new exterior door handle.
