I recently bought a 5th gen and the torsion bars for the trunk lid are obviously set up wrong since they hit the speakers. I was wondering if someone could do me a huge favor and take a picture of them so I can set them right. Thanks in advance.

 

Preludes need shallow mount speakers, if you have aftermarket speakers then you're gonna hit the tension bar. Only the right type of speakers will fit other than stock.

 

Just like minilogoguy18 mentioned, alot of aftermarket speakers have lower sitting magnets, so the tension bars will hit it. If you have stock speakers and the bars are hitting it, then yea, there's a problem

guess i got lucky when i bought my pioneers, didnt know there was fitment issues

 

i bought 6x9 speaker adapters for my 4th gen lude and i got plenty of room =D

 

Anyone have maybe a list of what are good OEM replacements that will fit?

 

They are hitting the stocks and it looks like the previous owner messed with it at one point, so they're definitely set up wrong.
A list or maybe some suggestions on good aftermarket speakers would be great.

Still would like to see pictures of the full thing, and how they connect to the trunk on each side.

 

Are your speakers mounted below the package shelf or on top?

What I mean by this is there is two ways to install the speakers.

From the inside of the car dropping them into the speaker holes (above the package shelf) OR connecting them from inside the trunk (below the package shelf).

 

put new speakers in lastnite... now da damn trunk cant close. lol, im a fool i forgot all about da damn trunk "*****". ima look for some 6x9 speaker adapters and c what they do...
