Default b series oil pan installation from hell

i just got a fitting welded on to my oil pan for the oil return on my turbo setup. i cannot get that **** to seal properly for my life since i took that mo fo off. im going on to the tenth time for that ****!

can anybody give me some help or advice on what works in regards to installing a oil pan and getting the gasket to seal properly?

i have tried honda bond on both sides (no luck), i have tried no honda bond (no luck) i have a new gasket waiting to go in but im waiting for veteran suggestions before i proceed.

btw im not half assing the process. every time i install that pan i have everything super clean and even alcohol wiped and ready to go, and im still getting damn leaks :expletive:

the oil pan is not banged up in any way shape or form. i have a combination of studs and bolts (in an alternating fashion = stud ... bolt ... stud .. bolt)

i even tried cross torquing the bolts and still no damn luck. and the block and pan are both virgin.

any ideas or insightful suggestions would be appreciated. thanks again everyone

all i do is clean both surfaces really good. put a dab of silicone in each corner and put it on. never had a leak.. sure the oil pan isnt warped. ..you might be tightening them to tight and crushing it, where is it leaking at.... sure its not your oil pump seal or crank seal.?

Sounds like you are over tightening it. What i do when i do them at the dealer is only put honda bond at the corners of the where the front and rear seals are, then thread them in by hand and choke up on a 1/4 rachet and tighten them. It should only be 10 inch pounds of torque.

it should be 8 ft lbs or 96 in lbs and as every one said some rtv or honda bond in the corners tighten from inside to the outside

Is this the first new gasket you're using?

If so there's your problem right there...

If not then you are probably over tightening the nuts/bolts...

Finger tight all of them and then increase the torque 1/2 turn at a time until it's upto 8lbs which FYI is next to nothing.

If you over-tighten the bolts the gasket will buckle between the bolt/nut locations and allow leaks.

so the initial gasket is brand new, and i think i am over tightening the bolts. are you guys using torque wrenches down there? i tried to be nice when i was tightening the pan but it nut/bolt doesnt even feel like its on there or will seal properly -_-

ill try it again tonight with the small ratchet... and only dab honda bond on the corners to prevent it gasket from coming off when you reinstall the oil pan?

i appreciate every body's help very much ^_^
