Default New Member Saying Hello

Hello all,

Name is Rob.

I own a very stock 1986 Accord LX-i. It has some strange aftermarket wheels that came with the car when I bought it and an aftermarket stereo system consisting of a CD player, some amps and some subs. Nothing fancy.

I also own a 1969 MGB roadster with a bored engine, ported aluminum head, mild cam, distributor-less ignition, megasquirt, EDIS, and Holset HX25 turbo.

Will share some pictures later. Here is the Link to the MGB.

Nice! There's a yellow MGB that looks damn near identical to yours running around my town. Same color yellow, and I swear has the same front air dam. I see it around quite often. Has similar wheels too. I'd swear it's the same car.

An plans for the Accord? The A20 makes some amazing power with a turbocharged setup.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

2ndgen - this MGB has been in the south east since it was imported in '68. From the factory these engines produced about 60whp, mine did 163whp and 167tq on a DynoDynamics dyno at the local Honda performance shop on ~10.5psi.

Honestly, I have considered messing with the A20a3. But the car runs perfectly and I don't know how to handle the engine management without converting to a tunable OBD1 or Megasquirt system. She only has 120k on the original engine, and a 5spd. Its a perfect candidate other than messing with the ECU!

+1 I have a Miata too. Roadsters FTW!

Impressive numbers on that motor with the turbo! Sounds like it takes to the boost pretty damn well! Friend of mine is doing a Rover/Buick V8 in his.

You're pretty much right about the A20 though. Tunable OBDI or aftermarket are the best ways to go. Though people do seem to get decent results with the piggyback and FMU type stuff (I don't know much about it). I know someone personally who is putting down quite a bit of power through his A20 like that.
