Hey guys, my company just came out with a pretty slick stock looking budget axle back with an amazing sound to it. This version is a prototype the newer version will be full stainless and a direct bolt-on to the OEM exhaust and uses your stock exhaust tip. Just trying to get your opinions on sound, looks etc.. trying to get opinions before we put it into production.

Heres a flyby video. Stock 2006 civic SI with a drop in air filter.
Thanks guys.

Skunk2 also did this along with spoon, greddy and knockoffs on ebay...but we're going to be selling them for a fraction of what there's costs.
Umm just looks like bigger piping that i could get at any muffler shop and then you stuck your oem si tip on there.
Am i missing something?
Am i missing something?
is it just straight pipe all the way back from the down pipe?!
but my concern would be... umm ...is that crush bent? kind of looks like it is, and we all know crush bent flows like ***...

the material used in the picture is 2.5" mandrel bent aluminized steel, its our prototype design and the production piece will be in 16 gauge stainless. FBP_Si PM sent about meeting up.
This is a naturally aspirated car, no down pipe is shown or mentioned. The piece is straight off of the flange right behind the rear strut. At idle its basically stock sounding but has a deep bass sound to it. More videos and pictures will be up soon. To answer your question about going to a muffler shop and getting a pipe made etc.. The piping used is the same size as stock and most muffler shops that I know of dont have a mandrel bender, the reason the pipe looks "crushed bent" is because the material of that specific pipe is quite thick due to the fact our bender misunderstood the thickness we wanted to use, we also might considering doing a pie cut version. Thanks for the feedback guys..keep it coming.

well i ran a dump on my car not to long ago and loved the sound. I would much rather enjoyed it with a full axleback. Whats the cost of these going to run and when can they be made and shipped?

Within the next 2 weeks we will have the finished stainless pipes ready to ship, I will post pics as soon as the stainless ones are finished. The price will be in the ball park of $150.00 shipped. no higher. we're using 304 stainless 16 gauge pipe. The finished product will consist of U bends with extremely clean welds instead of a straight mandrel bent pipe for a better flowing exhaust. For any questions reply to the thread or send me a PM. Thank you

I believe the stock pipe is 2 3/8 and it gets pinched down to 2 at the muffler. I would rather pay for it then try to go through the hassle of trying to make one, thats just me though. Im in for more info TIGboy... let that guy make his own!

looks exactly like the pipes that come off my friend's crush bender at those circled areas... you can crush bend pipe with out the ribs, it just ovals the pipe... but yeh my bad i may have read axle back and then read on and forgot that was already mentioned...
but the OP cleared up why it looked crushed to me... thanks
buddy works at a muffler shop and thats a fair price. To be hones i bet for the people like me with the evo2 that have a big muffler to baffle the noise in a way reduces the flow a little bit. I would like to get one and compare dyno wise the difference between the two. Prolly not much but I would like to know specifially b/c my car felt much faster with the dump.
The pipe is not supposed to be anything advanced, or something that's never been done. Were just trying to make them available to people and offer a tested, fitted product. Right now we are making them out of mandrel bent stainless, much nicer than the crush bent pipe in the pictures. We will offer a warranty on them as well.
Also- If you noticed a $600 skunk 2 catback adds about 4 hp at the wheels. Get the same sound and around the same power for a fraction of that.
Would anyone be interested in different tips? Were trying to get ideas here, please feel free to make suggestions.
you want ideas as in what type of tip to use. Are you guys looking to use a muffler as the tip like i know 06BlackSi #45 in the general discussion/rant thread is looking to get a axle back made with a blacked out muffler.
If your looking for just a straight tip i think that the stock tip is great becuse it reduces the price and allows the car to look stock. But im sure there are others who will want a special tip on their car.

Reguaress I would definately consider picking one up if money stays tight through spring...
on an actual suggestive end as requested... might be the German car fan in me, but the ol 993 tips have always been a favorite of mine
i know they exist with out the upsweeps...
also the AC SCHNITZER tips are nice... but i guess i am thinking out of the norm and wouldn't be too good for mass production

Sounds identical to my car with just an SRI on it.
