I have a d16y7 and im putting in a d16z6 engine and head. I was told that the crank sensor is different so i just need to change that out, and all i need is to just make a vtec cable right?? PLEASE HELP! what do i need to change out?

 

As far as the CKF sensor goes to actually add it you would have to swap the oil pump for a Y7/Y8 oil pump. Most people just perform the CKF fix fools the ECU into believing the CKF sensor is there and functioning. In your case however if you want the engine to run right you will need to backdate to OBD1 anyway which doesn't look for a CKF sensor.
