Default Valve adjustment question..

can valve adjusment cause overheating, my car has a slight miss on idle and i think its from an improper valve adjustment i did by not knowing the correct clearences..

1. can someone provide me the correct clearances i have a d17a2
2. is it possible?

my car overheats after about 30-50 min of highway driving.

Parts changed
radiator, cap, thermostat.

i also bypassed the heatercore, and the iacv coolant lines thinking it might of had a slow leak.

i would really appreciate the help

1. Search + "valve lash" = https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/searched-vtec-crossover-01-ex-2622813/

2. I wouldn't think this is the cause of the problem.

no. And sounds like the head gasket has gone and it is pushing air into the system.

How did you manage to do a valve adjustment without knowing the clearance specs?

check the stickers in the engine bay. it might list the valve specs. i know my s2000 has it on the hood

ones at the front of the car are exhaust. note which side of the engine the exhaust pipes go to...

i never heard of a car overheating because the valves are out of spec. look at the color of your coolant and when is the last time you checked your oil?

the size should be on the sticker under your hood. so pop it open and look for the sticker. and possible of over heat from head gasket.
